💡 Tricks to Remember Your Facts

× 1: Any number times 1 equals itself. 1 × 7 = 7.
× 2: Double the number. 2 × 8 = 16 (think 8 + 8).
× 3: Double, then add one more group. 3 × 6 = 6+6+6 = 18.
× 4: Double twice. 4 × 7 = double 7 (14), double again (28).
× 5: Count by 5s, or halve the number and add a zero. 5 × 8 = 40.
× 6: If the other number is even, the answer ends in that number. 6 × 4 = 24.
× 7: 7 × 8 = 56 — say "5, 6, 7, 8" to remember 5×6=7×8!
× 8: Double three times. 8 × 6 = double 6 (12) → double (24) → double (48).
× 9: Hold up 10 fingers. Fold down the finger for the number you're multiplying by. Fingers left = tens digit, fingers right = ones digit. 9×7: fold finger 7, left=6, right=3 → 63.
× 10: Just add a zero! 10 × 7 = 70.
× 11: Up to 9: repeat the digit. 11×7=77. For 11×11=121, 11×12=132.
× 12: Multiply by 10 and add two more groups. 12×8 = 80+16 = 96.
Flip it! 6 × 9 = 9 × 6 = 54. Order doesn't matter — learn one, get one free.
